Milwaukee’s beautiful Lake Michigan lakefront is the home of the 24th Annual Indian Summer Festival – the largest American Indian festival of its kind in the country. This year's theme "Honoring Our Warriors" features a Veteran's Parade with flyover, a Traditional Pow Wow, five stages of contemporary and traditional Native entertainment, a Native marketplace of 100 craft vendors, 30 food vendors, lacrosse competitions, traditional villages, cultural craft demonstrations, a Village Green area, Education Day and so much more! New this year: FISH FRY FRIDAY, Native Pizza and Quileute Northwest Wolf Dance Group from the "Twilight" saga. Also featuring Moses J. Plenty, formerly of Brulé.

September 11th, 2010 - sheridan college pow-wow sheridan wy

this is a 2 day event to promote student invollvement in a community college. sheridan wy is located in northern wyoming near the Crow and Cheyenne tribes. We have a supportive community that has donated 2 scholarships to a winning female and male high school senoir dancer. scholarships are given the 2nd night of the pow-wow. there are cash prizes for 1st and 2nd place winners also. we have invited high schools from Montanna, Wyoming, South and North Dakota and Colorado. sheridan college 307 674 46446. carol garcia pow-wow starts friday 5pm and sat at 1pm

September 13th, 2010 - All Nations Drumming & Gathering

A few of us here in Vancouver, WA are starting a Native Gathering on Monday nights at 6:30pm. in August. Please spread the word to anyone you know who might want to come. Please make sure that if you let any drums know that it will be on a volunteer basis and will not be paid. We are doing on a Monday night so it won't conflict with Bow and Arrow being on Friday nights. We have a day and time for the Drumming at St. Lukes. It is Monday nights at 6:30 set up, 7-9 drumming etc. and 30 min cleanup. Beginning, August in the friendship hall. We will pass the basket for donations because the cost of using the building will be $25 a month. On the last Monday night of every month starting in August will be a potluck. So, everyone bring your favorite dish on the last Monday night starting in August. We are doing this so we will have a place to drum and dance and keep our heritage alive no matter what nation you come from. We want this to be an additional place to come and drum, sing, dance, give a good word. If you have anything like regalia or beadwork that you are working on, feel free to bring it with you to work on it while hanging out. And also announce what is going on in the native community.
