SACRED PATH of LIFE GATHERING: SAGINAW GRANT is Guest Speaker, music by CAROLS REYNOSA and Dance Exhibitions and Drum provided Circle of Nations Productions (dancers and drums welcome). This gathering is dedicated to honoring those whom keep traditions, stories, languages, and culture alive for future generations. Free admission to the public includes:information booth, American Indian Arts, Crafts, Vendors and Food booths. This is a Non- competition, Drug & Alcohol Free Event. *Arts and Crafts vendors are $60.00 for the event* Sponsored by Native American Women of California

August 02nd, 2010 - Drumming and Gathering

A few of us here in Vancouver, WA are starting a Native Gathering on Monday nights at 6:30pm. in August. Please spread the word to anyone you know who might want to come. Please make sure that if you let any drums know that it will be on a volunteer basis and will not be paid. We are doing on a Monday night so it won't conflict with Bow and Arrow being on Friday nights. We have a day and time for the Drumming at St. Lukes. It is Monday nights at 6:30 set up, 7-9 drumming etc. and 30 min cleanup. Beginning, August in the friendship hall. We will pass the basket for donations because the cost of using the building will be $25 a month. On the last Monday night of every month starting in August will be a potluck. So, everyone bring your favorite dish on the last Monday night starting in August. We are doing this so we will have a place to drum and dance and keep our heritage alive no matter what nation you come from. So, PLEASE spread the word. August 03rd, 2010 - Adults Working with Native Youth Training

This three-day interactive session is intended for adults who work with Native youth. The goal of the training is to increase and enhance your tool bag of knowledge and skills in working with Native youth. The training will focus on learning and implementing traditional and cultural strategies and approaches to working with Native youth. The use of ceremony, making and playing traditional games and crafts will be the highlights. Adults attending will get the opportunity to interact with local Michigan Native youth during their leadership training.

Native Wellness Institute is delighted to bring creative and innovative ways to work with and prepare our young people for a brighter future! We look forward to seeing you in Saginaw Chippewa homelands, as they host us and welcome us to attend their annual tribal celebration that week and weekend!

The early-bird registration fee is $375. To qualify for the early-bird registration fee, payment or purchase orders must be postmarked or received by Tuesday, July 20, 2010. Registrations received
after Tuesday, July 20 and on-site registration fees will be $475. Purchase orders must be preapproved. Please visit our website for other payment options as well.

Cancellation Policy: Refunds, less a $75 administration fee, will be made if written cancellation notice is postmarked on or before the
registration deadline. Prepaid registrants who are unable to attend may send a replacement participant at no additional charge.

The Friendship House American Indian Market & Powwow is a San Francisco festival featuring American Indian arts and crafts booths, powwow dancers, three drum groups, and informational booths about American Indian organizations. Delicious Indian tacos and refreshments will be on sale. A Youth Educational Pavilion will include talks about the diversity of American Indian culture, a teepee to house storytelling sessions, and carnival games for children’s entertainment. Dance groups representing various tribes will share their styles of dancing with exhibition dances. In addition to exhibition dancing, there will also be contest dancing.

The American Indian Market & Powwow celebrates the diversity and cultures represented in the American Indian community and honors community leaders who have significantly contributed to the American Indian community. The event is a hallmark of the richness and beauty of American Indian individuals and their families. Your support of this celebration would of course be greatly appreciated. The 6^th Annual American Indian Market & Powwow will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2010 10 am to 6 pm on Julian Avenue, parallel to Mission and Valencia and between 14th and 15th Streets in the Mission District of San Francisco.

Friendship House Association of American Indians, Inc. was formed in 1963 and is a nonprofit community-based organization. Friendship House provides residential substance abuse treatment services at its 80-bed facility in San Francisco and its 11-bed Lodge program in Oakland for women and their children. Friendship House also provides a large array of youth prevention services and hosts several annual community events.

August 07th, 2010 - Native American POW WOW - Honor the Animals!

Representatives of several Maine and New England tribes will be at the park for two full days with native dancers, drummers, craft vendors, singers and traditional food booths. Special events will be presented throughout each day. Grand Entry both Saturday and Sunday at 12 noon. This is an exciting opportunity to learn more about Maine's Native American culture and heritage. (All day rain or shine.)
